Castell Coch again
This blip is of part of the living room ceiling. This was considered to William Burges's "piece de resistance". Burges was commissioned by Lord Bute to design and build the castell in 1870. This particular roof is designed to look like a golden sunburst spangled with butterflies and birds of sunny plume. All the trellis work is gilded. A fantastic piece of work
