Waiting Room

Only took a couple of shots today. This is the arrangement in a waiting room where I was stuck this afternoon. It reminded me vaguely of the movie sets for the old Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers films. "I did everything he did, but backwards!" Go Ginger.

I have been asking relatives about memories of their grandparents, including stories they heard others tell about their grandparents. This follows reading a paper on the impact of grandparent stories on perceptions of 'fatherhood'. It's also great for the family tree. I was lucky enough to record my grandmother telling her memories of her grandparents and great-grandmother. So much history in ordinary minds.
