Kirking of Edinburgh Council
This is the procession of the Lord Provost and Councillors attended by the High Constables, a long term tradition and called the Kirking of the Council.
The Council had come from the City Chambers to St Giles Church to ask for the church's blessing on their work over the forthcoming year. In the photo they are on their way back to the City Chambers.
Another hot day, a bit hot for the Edinburgh marathon some looked pretty tired when they had finished. Went to the station to check that the paperwork was adequate to take our bikes to Kings Cross at the end of June. Hopefully we will also get our bikes on train to Portsmouth for the ferry to St. Malo, Brittany.
