Flowering Blackcurrant

Another busy afternoon with some warmth from the sun and feeling pleasantly like spring. I gave another coat of damson paint to my barrels and finished painting the trellis with Anthracite. I took this job over from CH who mowed the front and side lawns for the first time this season. I was hoping to plant up the barrels but that will have to wait for tomorrow.
The Ribes or flowering blackcurrant is seen everywhere and I like it because it's the first of my shrubs to flower. It does have rather an interesting fragrance, however, and not to everyone's taste.
My neighbours are coming for dinner on Saturday so I'm going to plan the menu, make the shopping list and meditate before CH makes his Thursday evening curry.
