Benedek Hill
As L spent the day working and procrastinating I sorted out half of the 1000 photos I took at MMM. At about 7 it was finally time to go out for a walk.
We had a lovely walk under the castle and I enjoyed looking at the beautiful and quirky buildings of Veszprem. Each is very different and I'm sure if I lived here I could just blip a new building everyday. As we have no food and the shops are closed for the bank holiday we stopped at a sweet restaurant on the edge of the park for dinner. We had Tócsni which is similar to a rosti but I think it's made with mashed potatoe,s with sour cream, raw red onion and beer. L had a spicy sour cream but you couldn't tell as the onion was so hot. The food was great but the service was atrocious.
We headed home after dinner via Benedek Hill where I managed to do a bit of night time photography that kind of worked! I do love Veszprem a lot, especially in the summer where it seems to come alive yet is still very beautiful and peaceful.
When we got back to the L's hall, I met the hall cat who was meowing outside for his dinner. Turns out it's a stray who lives here and comes twice a day to get fed. It's a gorgeous very friendly cat. Now we're home, L is revising and we're drinking some birthday blueberry sparkling wine.
