Hungarian Tabló
Before students graduate secondary school they make a tabló which is a kind of class photo. They can have any design but always contain a photo of each student and name, their tutor, the name of their school and the years they were in attendance. The photo shoot is taken very seriously with make up artists and professional photographers brought. The design is also very important and come up with by the students themselves. In our school they are put up in local shop windows about 2 weeks before graduation for people to see. At graduation they are put in the entrance hall where they remain until after exams. They will then be put up in the school hallway and remain their for years. It's interesting to see them dating back for maybe 30 or 40 years as you walk through the school.
While in Veszprem yesterday I spotted this one and as I loved it so much I took a photo on the way to the bus today. It's different from those at our school as it is still in the shop window and they have included photos of all their teachers. I love how they have put the teachers in Azkaban and gave the tutors wands and glasses and put them in a prophecy/bubble (Order of the Phoenix style). Below the years it says 'Csiny Letudva' which is Hungarian for 'mischief managed', I think this is another great touch. As a huge Harry Potter fan I think this is the coolest tabló I have ever seen.
L and I had a nice morning, cooked chilli, note to self - never leave a man in charge of taco shells in the oven, ate chilli and not burnt tacos and L scrapped the burnt taco off the bottom of the oven.
I went with P to have coffee in a nice beer garden and a good catch up as we haven't seen each other in ages! This was super duper.
Back to halls to pack then L walked me to the bus station. Good bus journey home on the later bus, lots of poppies and weird clouds that looked like rain (maybe it was the rain!).
Edited to say that I kept thinking my phone was about to ring and someone was going to ask why I wasn't at work. Even though it was a bank holiday I felt like I was being very naughty!
Now I'm home and not enjoying the quiet flat and loneliness while L is freaking out a bit about exams via skype. I do worry about him.
