Solar Eclipse
I was so thrilled this morning to capture the solar eclipse although the cloud cover was quite extensive. This actually was fortuitous because it acted as a filter when the eclipse fleetingly materialise through the gloom. The first shot was taken at 9.18 and the last two shots as the moon passed over were at 9.37. As this is the UN Day of Happiness this is a really memorable event!
This cosmological coincidence is because ours is the only planet in the solar system whose moon appears from the surface to have the same angular size in the sky as that of the sun - it is 400 times smaller, but also 400 times closer.
