City Sights
A day in Siagon started off with a visit to the Presidential Palace. They were having an event in celebration of education. Good for them !
The end of the Vietnam war was marked by a North Vietnamese tank breaking through the front gates and raising the flag of the reunited country. The palace is now a museum giving fascinating insights into life as a president of a country at war.
We followed that with a visit to the war museum. It was a profound experience dominated by photographs recording a seemingly limitless capacity to cause suffering.
There were other visits and a thoroughly enjoyable walk around the city. But it will be the memory of the museum which will stay the longest.
