Whole school eclipse.
Magic day at College today with the solar eclipse coinciding with the end of term. We had all been issued with Marlborough College solar goggles and lesson one was suspended to allow the whole community to watch the eclipse unfold upfield, where something of a party atmosphere was present.
Harry's school had not been so organised, but we were sent an email yesterday stating that if we did have solar goggles - or a pinhole camera - we could keep our children at home until first break to allow them to watch the eclipse.
So, having watched the College safety video, and armed with our goggles, we did just that! Through the goggles, it was an amazing experience. A golden globe being nibbled away at by the moon. The grandparents were visiting, so they got a go as well, and nanny in particular loved it. Maybe I got my science genes from her.
Later there was a parents' meeting, but we are all done and dusted now.........and on holiday. Large glass of wine in hand!
