Longwharf Chart House

Neither snow nor ice nor loads of road salt kept Glenn from getting to Boston for the weekend. Good thing too , or I would have been stuck here !he actually was just ahead of the snow most of the way and just beat the first flurries here. There is currently a wet snow gently falling outside. We went to the Chart House for dinner which , it turns out may be the oldest remaining brick building in Boston and was built in 1763 by John Hancock's uncle as a warehouse . The accountant for the uncle's business was none other than John himself and his photo hangs next to the safe where he would put the daily receipts, restored by the restaurant. Wonderful brick building with enormous wooden beams in the ceiling and the original winch used to haul the goods up to the higher floors.
