Stars over the Lynn Stream Bridge, Mt Peel

After a pleasant evening socialising and having some food at the Peel Forest bar, I decided to head up the Gorge to see what I could find for a night sky shot.

The sky was super clear, and whilst some aurora activity was forecast for later in the night/earlier in the morning, I decided to make it home just after midnight, electing to give the possible 3am show a miss. After getting a wide shot from up on the Waikari Hills (see the pic on Facebook here) I stopped off at the Lynn Stream bridge to get this shot of the Milky Way and Magellanic Clouds.
