Daffs at Farranamanagh

What a beautiful day! Wall to wall sunshine, socks off, cardie abandoned I've cleared out the conservatory ready for summer living, mowed the grass,  and made a start on a huge ivy patch - even worse than brambles. Birds trilling, bees buzzing and the first violets spotted.

A great selection of entries for this week's Derelict Thursday Challenge, it seems to get more difficult each week. We've had beautiful barns, peeling paintwork, much rustiness,  ivy clad doors and windows, crumbling old pubs and factories, tin mines, copper mines, a cortijos ( had to look that up), a finissage (had to look that up too), piles of serious rubbish, an old bank, a yard full of amazing derelict steam engines, ghost writing, forlorn pubs, sagging sheds, landlocked boats, a fine old pump, some elegant old glasses and shelves of colourful packaging.

My faves in no particular order:
Life and Death  by theimpinside - sinister, sombre, striking dereliction
Finissage by MildyOffensive - chic, arty, cool dereliction
Light and Airy  by Landscape Artist - poignant, beautiful, subtle dereliction
Fragile, Flaky by Ceridwen - homely, sad, nostalgic dereliction
Recycling by sjb, arty, abstract, painterly dereliction

And Himself's choices:
Window by kwchas, Old and derelict windows are often blipped in this household. There is something about them and this is a fine example for DT.
Down the Drain by Treshnish , I think Treshnish's images are wonderful and this rusty, paint-flaked drainpipe ticks all the DT boxes for me
Recyling by sjb, Not sure what I am looking at here - but I like the abstract colours and shapes. A beautiful example of a painterly photograph.
Gaiety by  notowennewitt.  I know this building - it's just around the corner from where our son lives in Cardiff and indeed, he has blipped it himself here   So in a way, this is a proxy favourite for him too without being too nepotistic.
Flaky, Fragile by Ceridwen, A very poignant image and I have seen many similar sights in old cupboards and dressers here in West Cork. When you put it into context and look back to see what Ceridwen has been doing, the image becomes all the more powerful.

Next week we shall have a guest host for DT as Himself and I will be away for a few days and not returning until late on Thursday. Lynnfot  has kindly agreed to be in the hot seat so please linger and loiter as usual!
