A Bugs Life

Spent the day today as a trainee volunteer with a bunch of like-minded happy anoraks at a 'River Invertebrate Monitoring Workshop' run at Gibsons Hill in Hebden Bridge. The course was run by the Riverfly Partnership for the Environment Agency and consisted basically of pond dipping training for grown ups. Got the certificate and now will be spending a day a month to monitor river bug species and numbers on my lovely River Wharfe at Buckden. It can only help improve my fly fishing so can't wait to get started.
