Life, not as we see it.

Glasgow's Glasshouses

This collage comprises some views of and in the Victorian Glasshouses in The Botanic Gardens in the West End of Glasgow where I went today for a wander down memory lane during a break from visiting, whilst other family members were in attendance.

As you may realise, the transplant happened on Saturday 21.93.2015 and it has worked.

Exactly as we had been warned by the medical staff at Glasgow’s Western General Infirmary, the immediate results are that the recipient is feeling “good”, and the donor is feeling “BAD”

I tried to play a round of golf on my own this morning ( I know, I know!), but I only lasted 3 holes before my scrambled brain said "get off the course".

I had texted Sue about 08:30 but she didn't reply 'till about 09:45, and then only briefly, to the effect that she wisnae feeling well, so I went through to Glasgow several hours earlier than planned for today.

Her medication had had the temerity to disagree with her, prompting a lot of dry boaking (Sue’s words, not mine) overnight. Not good for the wounds! However, she is vastly better now although terribly tired.

Louise, on the other hand, is quite perky, and some measure-or-other, where she was borderline for dialysis, has halved in the first 24 hours. So, despite a wee hiccup when the kidney was first hooked up – a blood clot and it went a funny colour - it is already working well.

Great progress!
