Faneuil Hall
Another day of I wish I had remembered to ask Glenn to bring my camera . I had wanted a shot of the Old North Church but the phone was not able to capture it because the contrast between the well lit steeple and the rest of the church in shadow was too great . So , another Boston icon instead . Both Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market were almost demolished in the late 60's to make way for more modern buildings. Some of the few remaining merchants didn't want to leave and an architect and few others came up with the idea and plans to renovate the spaces into a "festival" market with stalls and occasional music etc. It is one of the big tourist draws in Boston and has seen millions of visitors since it opened. Think Philly's Reading Terminal meets a mall. We hit up Bricca for artisanal bread , amaticiana sauce and homemade pasta and Mike's for pastry before we left! Don't ask how much weight I gained in one weekend!
