Moo!
A flock of brown-headed cowbirds took over the front yard this evening. I've seen these birds before but have never seen them in the sunlight.
From what I've read, they are brood parasites meaning that they lay their eggs in other birds nests and are then raised by the host parents. Sound like pretty smart birds to me!
Now the cow part: These birds forage on the ground, often following grazing animals such as horses and cows to catch insects stirred up by the larger animals.
