A great day
We didn't stay still long enough to take many pictures. It was another lovely sunny day so we headed off to make the most of the 3 Valleys lift pass. We skied a few nice blues in good condition on our side first then headed down to the middle valley and Meribel Motterat. The snow was in poor condition due to the weeks of warm weather, so it was hard work lower down. We then took a bubble up to get to the Courchevel valley and did a few nice runs before heading as far as we could go, almost a 4th valley, then down to Couchevel 1650. Some of the blues down to it were closed, so we had to find another way down to get the bubble to start the long way back. The last few runs hom were very cut up but quite good fun, almost like riding the waves on a windsurf. It was quite a long day but I feel so much better about it all. Now I just need to face the fear of the steep hardpacked icy stuff!
Or maybe it will be snowing all day and I'll read my book, the diaries and letters of Barbara Pym. a spoiled self-obsessed woman in my opinion who might have benefitted from some hard manual work and mixing with more people who were not "our sort".
