Derelict Thursday - empty house

I am not sure how we define "derelict" here.  This house has stood empty, on the side of Hollingworth Lake, for at least 8 years (on the basis that some of the newspapers which cover the inside of the windows are dated 2007.)  It is a tragic waste that such a fine house, with this fantastic view, also taken today, should stand empty, slowly decaying. I am not sure of the reason behind this but I don't think the truth is contained in this story..
