From the Strasbourg Cathedral
Today is my 43rd birthday. Climbing the 66 meter bell tower of the Strasbourg Cathedral seemed an appropriate way to mark it. The girls were troupers and came along with me. It was a winding staircase with no landings and my legs feel a bit like jelly now. Ch counted all the steps on the way down (330!) We ate dinner last night in the square you can see down here, under the square, white umbrellas. View the details in large.
It's been a great birthday and I'm so glad my mother was here to celebrate it with me. If J had been here, it would have been perfect... mind you, I'm generally always at the Canadian Congress for the Humanities and Social Sciences on my birthday and rarely get to celebrate it with my family on the actual day anyway.
We are back in Paris now.
