The princess sentry

Lacey loves sunbeams and her yard. She does not like anything that she regards as an intruder and watches the yard constantly (well, when she is awake), on guard for squirrels, birds, leaves, shadows, snowflakes, etc., etc., etc. 

Incidentally, the worst kind of intruders (dogs, cats, horses, cows, any kind of four-legged animal) have been known to come through the television. She is good at her job though, and somehow spots these threats even when appearing to be deep in sleep. We are in the habit of always having the remote control handy so the channel can be changed quickly, allowing Lacey the Princess Sentry to rest peacefully again, knowing that she has chased the bad animals away.
