Capturing my Journey

By thedoglady

Lambing has begun

This is Badger she is a badger face welsh mountain x cheviot and she has had a lovely set of x cheviot twins, both boys! Hoping for girls from this tup but never mind! She was missing from the feeding this morning and when I found her she hadn't started lambing yet but was very close. I checked her at lunchtime and she had this pair. They both seem to be fine this evening having a nice wee stretch when I got them up to check their bellies. Badger is old hat at this so she let me get a nice close look at them. On the other side of the wall a gimmer (first time lamber) has had a strapping x Suffolk single lamb. All looks fine there but I wasn't allowed near for close inspection (this is where binoculars or camera zoom come in handy!!) Great mothering instinct on her so it should be fine! Only 100 odd to go now!!

Broke the glass in the stove door today hadn't seen the log not quite all the way in when I shut the door. Have ordered one but wont be here until later next week.

10c 25mph W with heavy rain overnight followed by frequent showers in the am less rain and still by the afternoon.

Thank you all so much for the comments and stars and favourites the last few days I appreciate and read every one of them I just haven't had the time to reply.

Also be prepared for A LOT of lamb photos and stories now since that's all I will be doing for the next while.
