Rye Pier (2014.363)

A day visiting my eldest cousin (on this side of the family), his wife and nearly-1-year-old daughter in Rye. South of Melbourne on the Mornington Peninsula, Rye sits on a fantastic coastline.

The area is a huge natural inlet. Melbourne lies somewhere along the line of the pier, about 35 miles away. Around 80 dolphins cruise around, saying hi. The place abounds with surfers (wave, wind and kite), and jetskis more powerful than a family saloon car. It is, in short, a place where people go to enjoy the weather and the sea. Quite compelling!
