Gorse and horse
Well what was that yellow ball up in the sky this morning?! Certainly got us moving a bit quicker at the prospect of getting out in the sunshine and blue skies!
We decided a drive into the New Forrest might be an enjoyable day out, and would hopefully give me some nice photo opportunities :-)
After a quick drive up the M27 we were in the Forrest within 30 minutes. Wide open spaces, covered in yellow gorse, and lots of the New Forrest wild ponies, some very close to the roadside......thankfully most drivers take heed of the speed limits. We parked up and walked down towards the river, then up the other side. There were quite a lot of ponies in close proximity and totally unphased by us.
This little chap was busy neighing away to his mate just up the hillside. I snapped him whilst he was swishing his tail and sniffing the air.
We stopped off for lunch (again!) at a lovely little licensed B&b in the village of Damerham, who were advertising their Easter Weekend Grand Event..........the Damerham Duck Race :-)
We were all tempted by their Ploughmans for lunch and the guys tried yet another local ale!
Back home again now, a delayed Sunday Roast for dinner later this evening.
An early start tomorrow, after hopefully a good nights sleep tonight for all of us :-)
