WHAT'S THE STORY?

My wife says that a good picture tells a story.
These are the burning branches from the Filbert orchard behind it.  I hope that he kept the bigger pieces for fire wood, but he probably didn't.
When I was a kid there were a lot of small Filbert orchards around.  We kids picked up the nuts in the Fall.  Probably got a penny a pound for the hard work.  But we always filled our pockets, shelled them when we got home, put them in a jar of salt water, and ate them. Yummy!
There must be a lot of money in them now, because there are huge orchards of them everywhere.  All of the work is done by machines, and kids play video games.  They buy their nuts already salted.
