Welcoming April

Dear Diary,

It was so good to turn the page on March but April can be a fickle month as well. I'm hoping the big snow storms are now over but we'll deal with whatever comes our way...we have no choice.

We deal with what is, said Cadfael.  Leave what might have been to the eyes that can see it plain.

This month's quote reminds me of my grandmother's attitude towards life.  Do what needs to be done right now and don't worry about what's past...the future will take care of itself.  People who live in the past are often depressed; those that live in the future can be anxiety ridden. Only those who can live truly in the present moment find happiness.  We may not be able to achieve that level of mindfulness all the time but it is well worth striving for.
