Not sure how long these retail parks will survive as the pressure for housing increases and the popularity of inter-web  commerce and drone delivery might soon render such facilities redundant.

What will continue is our need to nurture our bodies, and the farmland here on the city edge, is well and truly ploughed  and scattered all the year round. 

Modern agricultural  techniques include warming the ground with polythene sheeting - much of which gets blown into surrounding countryside or left stranded on fences like this.

The lone farmer, passing on a tractor who stopped for a brief yarn, tried to convince us that this crop - to maintain best rotational output from the lush East Lothian soil  - would be a new strain of spaghetti!
