Something for the (Easter) weekend?
I promised my daughter that I would not buy chocolate eggs for the Bandits. To be fair, she did not ask me to make the promise, but I know how she tries to promote fruit and healthy eating over chocolate and sugar, and I completely support that.
I would rather give them Book Tokens I said; and I would - there is nothing I like more to buy for kids than a token to let them choose a nice new book. Even when I was at my most skint, back in the day where I was the parent of a young child, we had money every week for one new book, even if it came from a charity shop.
But when I went shopping last night I spotted this little hutch-ful of chocolate Bunnies, and I thought it would be really nice for the Family Dog to share. Then today my sister called in with eggs for them too. I've also got one here for Mum, and a little jar of chocolate Dinosaur Eggs, recipient as yet undecided - could well be me!
G came home from working in Inverness tonight, and we are both off for the long weekend - yippee! Tonight he went out to visit friends, and I stayed in and curled up on the sofa to watch the 7 Leaders Debate.
What did YOU think? I reckon the women were far superior: they didn't do the silly point scoring thing that the men were doing. Farage is an idiot, but a dangerous one. Nick Clegg makes me hate the sound of the word 'fair', which he somehow manages to pronounce with a double 'ff'. Milliband's acting for the camera was desperately sad, and Cameron, sadly, remains Cameron.
Such an exciting time, the lead up to an election. It amazes me how they suppose we will forget all about the opportunities to do good that they have wasted, and how they think we will fall for the promises they make now in the immediate period before we either re-elect them, or give them their P45's.
Anyway, I can hear chocolate calling me - better go. Happy Good Friday tomorrow.
