Crab Apple Jelly

Love this time of year with all the produce. Just made crab apple jelly from the tiny tree by our driveway  Mostly wanted to reduce the weight as it was bent in half. Tasted so good I made more, then got fancy with my labels. The crab apples looked just like this. I gather some crab apples are much nicer than others and birds definitely have a preference.
Family and grandchildren arrived with masses of fruit from one of the local orchards. Seconds - my preference as they are often perfectly ripe and ready to eat, i.e. too ripe to send to market. Also half price and I do not mind a branch rub.


The jars look great with their labels.
