An Easter Nest

Last Easter not this one though.
I went for a walk along the canal this morning and saw this old blackbird nest, now easily seen with the hedge having been cut and no leaves out. It sits cosily on a bed of moss and contains fragments of blue eggshell so I presume that it was a successful nest. There was another a few feet away, it's a good area for birds as this area of the canal that isn't walked very much.

I also saw a wren with a a worm in it's beak going into the ivy, it's lovely to see this!

It's Good Friday today and I shall be having a hot cross bun and fish later on as tradition dictates. Last Good Friday my Blip was a bun with my grandfather the village baker (not the village where I now live though).
