Tier Two
Today even more of us were feeling our age with stiff knees, thighs and gluteus - the younger generation were still full of beans though and opted to join the hardcore walk which involved walking along two high ridges covered in snow a foot deep. I joined 'tier two' for a more gentle walk around Grange - the hint of able sky teased us and then went away but contrary to the forecasts it was mainly dry.
Later I met up with cousin Judy whom I haven't seen for a couple of years and who lives nearby and we caught up on family news old and new. When I got back to the hostel the boys were full of enthusiasm for walking after their hi-jinx in the snow, but also straining at the leash for a 'night out' in Keswick. Everyone fancied an early night, so I volunteered to stay up until they got home and was just beginning to regret that decision when they rolled in the door - there not being that much for a bunch of 15 and 16 years olds to do in Keswick on a rainy Wednesday evening.
