Four Seasons in a Day
We raced off early to get the boat over the Lake and up Catbells before looping back over Walla Crag. However our plans were foiled - the boats weren't running and it was getting very windy and cold. Instead we walked round the Lake to Lodore Falls through cloud, sunshine, rain, sleet, sunshine, hail, clouds and finally stopped for lunch at the falls just as a heavy hail storm started! As we all got a bit cold we found a nice pub for a hot drink before finishing our loop.
The boys had gone off with Mark over Catbells where they were almost blown away, and then ran back on the route we would have taken. Even though their walk was harder and subject to much more severe weather, they got back before us (although I had to stop off to renew the gin supply!).
I had the evening out with Jayne which was lovely, catching up and reflecting on how we've changed or not over the last twenty-five years.
