Dolly and the big Buddha

It was hard to choose one picture today, we did so much! We spent the morning in the pool and headed out around lunchtime! Our first stop was this big Buddha! He is still in the process of being built, which was interesting to see! I always assumed all the monuments and temples were old, but most of them are new or quite modern, just built in the old style! He was up a lot of very steep steps too! After the Buddha, we stopped by Thom's elephants where we fed the elephants bananas! We are going the tomorrow morning to spend more time with the elephants, probably tomorrow's blip! We stopped by a place called Love Strawberry Pai, where we got great strawberry smoothies and saw some adorable rabbits, and then it was on to the Lod Caves! The caves were a great experience, you enter on a bamboo raft and once inside climb up inside the caves! We got to see the most amazing rock formations! We got back on the raft to go further inside where there are bats, must be thousands of them! A bit further up we got off the rafts to climb up inside the caves again where we saw 3000 year old wooden coffins that were placed inside the caves! The caves were amazing, although there were so many incredibly steep steps! We decided to head home but the journey that took us an hour and a half on the way there took five hours back, we made missed a turn and drove 100km in the wrong direction! Nevermind, we had a great laugh in the car, just as well I was with friends who appreciate my sense of humour!

Behind with all your journals, just too much to do! I will catch up soon! :) x
