(Not So) Good Friday
I got up with BB, but felt very rough, so left him with the TV and iPad and went back to bed. I dozed on and off till I felt I had to get up. I don’t think BB even noticed that I had gone back to bed. After a couple of painkillers and a bath I felt more human – I really should have taken some painkillers when I got up the first time. How can a silly little cold make me feel so grim? Anyway, it was a damp and grey, so a morning in our pyjamas wasn’t the end of the world. I took BB out for lunch to the GG (his choice) – where we both had yummy pizza and chips.
After lunch, as the rain had stopped and it had started to brighten up (slightly) we went to Dunbar for some fresh air. There were lots of noisy nesting birds on the castle ruins by the harbour – I think they were kittiwakes (at least that is what the information notice would have me believe). We also spotted a couple of seals swimming around the outer harbour. We then wandered around the inner harbour before heading along to the play park. It definitely got brighter – but it is all relative.
BB had to strip off when we go home. His coat and trousers were covered in mud. He had had great fun rolling down a hill, but emerged covered in mud from head to toe – quite predictable given that it had been raining all morning.
I predict another early night for us.
Here is a view of Dunbar from the harbour wall. You might even spot BB hanging over the upper harbour wall, about a third of the way along!
