Linhope Spout

It was so nice knowing that I had nothing to get up for this morning.  TT got up early-ish (I think) and went for a run.  BB got up and watched TV, and I lay in bed and read my book.  Everyone was happy!!  We headed to the Breamish Valley – somewhere we had never been.  We drove as far as you can, parked the car and walked to Linhope Spout – a waterfall. It was a pleasant walk and the weather improved all the time. Once at the waterfall we met a volunteer ranger who was collecting rubbish.  There was a crisp packet on the other side of the burn which she really wanted to get so I delegated TT to get it.  On his way back across he slipped and got a wet foot.  At least he had done a good deed. We caught up with the ranger on the walk back and I was amazed at how much rubbish she had collected.  Why can people not just take it home with them?

We then stopped at the café in Ingram for a late lunch and a wander round the churchyard in the sunshine.  TT had a notion to visit Brinkburn Priory, which we somehow managed to fit in.  It is located in an idyllic and peaceful location by the River Coquet and we had a little wander round the priory (which is a restored ruin) and the manor house which is also a ruin, although it doesn’t look like it from the outside.

Weary from all our fresh air, we headed home for pizza and a quiet evening.

Here is BB at Linhope Spout (taken by TT).
