Ussangoda
A beauty spot not far from where we are staying, on the south coast of Sri Lanka. The guys in our hotel said that a comet had landed there which had made the rock turn red and had stopped the trees from growing. Behind the cliffs there is a large patch the size of a cricket ground with no trees, only short grass and little flowers. Flocks of migrant plovers were sitting around on the grass. Below the cliffs, a lovely deserted beach.
