Bat rescue mission
This morning, bright and early, my sister and I went on a collection mission. I won't describe what we were collecting, but I will tell you that when it's analysed we will know more about what a particular owl has been eating :) As I criss-crossed slowly across a large patch of green, scattered with trees, I saw a furry brown lump. Initially I thought the owl might have left it half-eaten (that was after I stopped thinking it might be some kind of giant, unknown, furry spider). Anyway, when my sister picked it up, this tiny bat was still alive. She carefully placed him in a tree, away from any marauding cats and dogs, or other birds who might have thought the bat was an easy meal. We don't know if it will survive, but it's got a second chance :)
