Life in Newburgh on Ythan

Some old eggs

Making their annual appearance at Castle Talpa, the painted Easter eggs. They were painted by our two talpids  about 30 years ago. Mrs T being a canny Scot, they have been safely stored away again at the end of each Easter, to await their time in the limelight again next year.

Children paint eggs at Easter and roll them down a hill to commemorate the rolling away of the stone that had been used to close Jesus's tomb. The Talpids have, over the years, rolled many other painted eggs to their doom!

And behold, there was a great earthquake, for the Angel of the Lord descended from heauen, and came and rolled backe the stone from the doore, and sate vpon it.
