A Tease of Teasel

After a late breakfast, Mum, Steve and I had a walk at Stannick Lakes,  a local nature reserve.  It was rather overcast with a cold wind but we persisted and enjoyed seeing and hearing the birds full of the joys of spring.  This large bank of teasels is a great treat for local finches.  I love teasels - their delightful purple flowers in summer and distinctive spikey seed heads.  As a child I was fascinated by them.
