I first met Annabel in 2013, when she joined my GCSE class (she got a 'B'!) At that time, she had already written several children's books about Bo, a time-travelling poodle.
The Rhino Farm is aimed at adults as it's a hard-hitting novel about rhino poaching and the disgusting trade in rhino horn. This is taken from the book's official website: Rhino horn has been used for thousands of years in traditional Chinese medicine. What’s new, and much more frightening, is how rich Asians ‘use’ it as a ‘recreational’ drug. They snort it up their noses or mix it into drinks. It’s a way of showing off and flaunting wealth.
