Kiwi The Engine

Our Historic Railway steaming for Easter. It always used to be Thomas the Tank Engine at Easter but the royalties from England for doing it got so high they had to find something different. Now we have Kiwi and friends, a dressed up Kiwi on the platform giving Easter Eggs to all the children and a funny old station master etc.
Our bigger trains are out of action at the moment for ten year checks but this little engine and our Model T rail car are tops in the kids eyes.
A local woman has written delightful children's books on the Kiwi and all his friends the pukeko etc. They are beautifully illustrated and make nice gifts from our area.
