Happy Easter from a mostly lapsed...

I don't attend church regularly any more after attending weekly for nearly 30 years. My husband and son joined the choir and I found myself sitting alone in the pew and I realized that I didn't really want to be there. So, for the past couple of years, my husband and son went off to church and I have met friends at the dog park. 

Last night was the Easter vigil an the choir director asked me to videotape the choir. I felt good about helping out in some way and I enjoyed the music immensely.

I used to play viola semi-professionally and I remember the first time I got to play the Hallelujah! choir. Last night, I got to see my son sing it for the first time and I hope he felt the same electric feeling through his being as I did the first time I was "part" of music.

I don't have a video camera and so I used my DSLR for the first time to capture video. I did a little homework on my camera's capability and I bought an external microphone and my lens was able to capture the video from the choir loft from the back of the church. I was glad I could contribute in some way.
