The Lost Garden of Penicuik

I discovered earlier this week that there is a tour of the lost garden of Penicuik on the first Sunday of every month.  So I went along this afternoon to check it out.  I managed to get a great day for it as it was beautiful out and very warm.

The garden was built in the 19th century on the grounds of the Penicuik estate.  It was in use until the 1960's, but since then had been more or less forgotten until 2012.  There is currently a 50 year restoration project being carried out.  

This is a photo of the gates.  I loved the colour of the rusty gates and wanted to emphasis them.
