At the Court of James V
Just for a change, it was a wonderfully warm and sunny Easter Sunday. I got up at 7am and hung out washing, then made a picnic while G took Rocky for a long walk.
His Mum and Dad arrived at 10.30, and we headed off to Stirling Castle for their Medieval Easter Weekend celebrations.
It was lovely; sky so blue, and so hot that I had to take my cardigan off and put some suncream on. There were costumed ladies playing games with the children in the gardens, and a falconer in traditional garb showing off his magnificent birds of prey.
We wandered around for a couple of hours, then went back to the car for our picnic on the grass, before going back in and around for another couple of hours. Fascinating stuff, and nice just to wander round the chapels and kitchens, inner rooms of both Kings and Queens, the Great Hall, the Tapestry exhibition, etc.
So many foreign tourists already, and they all seemed to enjoy it as much as we did.
Home about 6.30, and we got a Chinese takeaway for tea. Me and Janice (mother in law) ate in the kitchen, listening to Madeleine Peyroux on the kitchen CD player, and setting the world to rights.
After they went home, G did a bit of Youtubing, and I watched Poldark. Hurrah! it's a holiday again tomorrow.
