Times Of My Life

By CarolB

We had a lovely day.  After quick burst of tidying and breakfast and dog walking, we headed into town to visit the Farmer's Market which is on the first Saturday of every month.

I issued G with the strict instruction : No Cheese! as we usually come away with shopping bags of the stuff!  He dabbled in various kinds of game meat, sampling some wood pigeon for the first time ( I don't like it, used to be part of our staple diet when I was a child).

I bought 5 little handmade pork pies for a picnic on our day out with his parents tomorrow; a bar of soap made with nettle extract (supposedly good for eczema and other sensitive skin conditions) for my daughter to try;  a jar of Seville and Pineapple marmalade (yum); and some fig chutney.

We met up with Judy, G's sister, and her husband Phil, and went for Tapas to the new restaurant in Paco's, beside the Concert Hall.  It was delicious.  We started off with 6 dishes, with bread and olives, then ordered another 5! Washed down with beer for the boys, wine for Judy, and ginger beer for me as the designated driver.

After a leisurely two and a half hour lunch (how Spanish!), we toddled round to the wee Whisky shop in South Street where the three of them spent a considerable amount of time sampling the goods before making their purchases.

And home, to find the sun shining and the dog very willing to go for a turn around the village to let me burn off some of those calories.

Now, settling down with the paper, a glass of Prosecco, sideways glances at The Voice final, and the prospect of another lovely day out tomorrow.

Happy Easter to you all.
