Wood Duck Nest

This wood duck nest captured my attention because
of the bit of evergreen on the right side of the nesting hole....
Could it be active?  Wood duck nests have always been of
interest to me because of the distance they are from the ground;  It
keeps predators away, but what a free-fall those duckings must make before reaching the solidity of land.  Also note how the bottom of this nest is in disarray.  I hope the ducklings do not fall out of the
bottom prematurely.
