The most bizarre building in Scotland ...
The Dunmore Pineapple at Airth, between Falkirk and Stirling. It has the reputation of being bizarre and it's certainly a one-off. Built in 1761 as a garden retreat it's now cared for by the National Trust for Scotland. There's also a six acre brick walled garden which was beautifully sunlit and warm today. The dog found the remains of several hard boiled eggs which had obviously been rolled down the gentle slope yesterday. Delightful!
Had a great walk through the many woodland paths on our way back from taking mum home to Edinburgh. The house feels a bit empty now, but the sun's still shining.
