Mr Merganser

This photo  is from yesterday's walk. The common merganser pair were on the creek drifting downstream with the current. The streams and river have been quite high given the snow melt and rain. The ducks seem to feel the creeks are a safer bet than the river which was at flood stage .Mrs Merganser  given her gray and brown coloring , faded into the bank behind her , so I chose to post the flashier male. This Am was gorgeous , but I didn't escape from the office till 6Pm at which point blue skies had given way to gray drizzle.
