Rainbows End
In between heavy showers of rain today I got out to take a few blips. While I started to take this rainbow it quickly started to dissipate and just after I took this shot all that was left was a beautiful pool of colour on the ocean.
While I was taking the rainbow there was a Butcher Bird who was very interested - every time the camera clicked he looked up and eventually flew right over and landed on the post just near me. I quickly snapped him - they are a native to Australasia and while quite ordinary to look at they have the most beautiful song.
Here he is
I also thought about making this shot my blip for the day instead of the rainbow as it was quite a funny thing to watch. There were three Pelicans on this perch, two sleeping and one one watch. Another one decided to join them. Very quickly the one nearest, who was the one who seemed to be on watch, sidled over to him and proceeded to knock him off the perch. Obviously very territorial:)
