Me and my bestie

It's been a really nice end to a really lovely long Easter weekend today. I woke to find my lodger had got in early and fed the dog, thinking he was being helpful, when in fact Bilbo doesn't usually get fed til 6pm!

What a gorgeous day it's been too, about 16C all day and beautiful Spring sunshine.

I took Bilbo back to Brackley for midday, checked the hens, collected three eggs from their coop and then drove to Bicester in time to pick Teddy up from his nursery while C was at her hospital appointment. He came over to me straightway, which was most gratifying and cooperated perfectly when I was getting the car seat in the car. We had an uneventful trip back to his house and he went straight up to his room for a sleep. As usual he grizzled for a minute but no more, then played quietly and slept for two hours.

Meanwhile, I continued to read Mummy's diaries from 1971 and got some more insight into my brother's premature birth and my second year of life - a few months in Whitchurch but mainly living in Trinidad- and of their marriage, all of it really nice to read and hugely reassuring. It seems I loved swimming and had no fear of water even at 18 months. There is mention of a lady called Jane coming round to draw me as I slept, a framed drawing that I still have to this day. Mummy clearly loved C and me very much and even Daddy was reasonably involved with us to my surprise. That Mummy loved Daddy greatly is plain to see and most heartwarming.

I got Teddy up just as C arrived back and we spent a lovely hour or two on the patio, wheeling Teddy on his trike, allowing Tilly some time out of her harness and giving Teddy his dinner. On the way home I did a shop and will be prepping for work tomorrow this evening.
