Almost like Summer

Stanage Edge was the place to be this afternoon. Very popular with climbers and walkers.

The new search and rescue HM Coastguard helicopter seemed to be out on a training run doing circuits and low passes but into the sun and a biplane ( may have been a Tiger Moth) ,the A380 to Dubai all too far away for photos.

Some lovely bird calls in the quiet bits including Golden Plover, Curlew, Red Grouse and Lapwing. The star birds, The Ring Ouzels did a flypast for us and we had good close encounters with a pair of Stonechat and a male Reed Bunting.

The climbers were climbing all available routes with many watchers in position along the Edge.

In the sheltered areas it was actually warm and summerlike but a bit of cool air makes for a clearer photo than later in the real Summer.
